WeShield, an entrepreneurial organization created to help supply front-line workers with PPE, announced their partnership with the NYC Hospitality Alliance, a not-for-profit association founded to represent and serve restaurant and nightlife establishments throughout the five boroughs, to offer a month’s worth of free PPE for newly reopened restaurants and their staff in New York City.

The initiative to donate PPE to New York restaurants is being spearheaded by restaurateurs turned medical suppliers at WeShield, Erika London and Michael Sinensky. Together, their restaurant experience includes Sushi by Bou, Sushi Suite, Sushi by Bae, Sidebar, Hudson Terrace as well as Sushi by Bou and Sushi Suite locations in Jersey City, Chicago and Miami, in the Versace Mansion.

“Almost every restaurateur for the past year has been making extremely difficult business decisions and the survival of the city has meant the death of so many small businesses,” says Michael Sinensky, Co-Founder of WeShield. “Our estimates find that the cost of PPE to operate is about $5-10 per employee, per day, which can really add up.” Erika London, Co-Chief Operating Officer at WeShield adds, “The additional cost of PPE is not something small businesses that are struggling to reopen should be worried about. We’re helping small businesses in the fight to reopen our city, because that’s what New Yorkers do.”

Each WeShield PPE Opening Package will include 3 ply masks, KN95 masks, alcohol wipes, gloves, and other personal protective equipment. In order to be eligible for the complimentary PPE supplies, restaurant owners must fill out a form at https://buy.wordpress-200272-2798375.cloudwaysapps.com/nyc-ppe.

Andrew Rigie, Executive Director at NYC Hospitality Alliance says, “I’m grateful to be working with restaurateurs at WeShield on their PPE initiative because they know, first hand, the immense obstacles that these business owners and service industry workers must overcome. New York’s volume and diversity of restaurants helps make this city so unique and an ease on PPE supply can go a long way in assisting these establishments recover.”
